Dig's Story

A lifelong fascination with machines

Dig Robotics joins together three worlds: Serial entrepreneurship, deep algorithmic expertise, and a lifelong passion for machines that move the earth. Noam Rotem, a seasoned founder with a track record in automation and optimization, teamed up with his long-time partner Dr. Oded Medina, a robotics expert who thrives on Star-Trek-level robots, and Ken Gray, an excavation guru whose fascination with heavy machinery began in childhood and shaped his career. These three trailblazers, with an ultra-talented team, set out on a mission: Making excavation smarter, more efficient, and radically more sustainable.

From its inception in October 2023, the team was clear on one insight: The market isn’t ready for full autonomy, but it's more than ready for tools that make operator performance sharper, faster, and more consistent. Out of that insight, Dig Robotics was born — a company built around super-powering excavators, with a decision support tool providing operators and site managers with real-time intelligence to achieve real-world results.

In 2024, Dig Robotics put its ideas to the test in real-world field trials in the United States and Israel. The results were hard to ignore: Up to 30% improvements in excavator performance, 10% improvement in productivity, 20–25% fuel savings, and measurable reductions in carbon emissions.

Recognition also rolled in - from CivicLabs Accelerator, to Techstars Industries of the Future Accelerator’s, being chosen among 8 finalists for the EllisDon and Impulse Partners’ ConTech Accelerator Program, and grants from the Israel Innovation Authority. The message was clear: the industry is ready for smarter excavation.

Today, Dig Robotics is tackling some of construction’s biggest pain points: the shortage of skilled operators, soaring fuel costs, tight deadlines, and the industry’s outsized carbon footprint — responsible for emissions on par with commercial aviation.

Dig Robotics is reshaping how the world digs — faster, cleaner, and more efficiently with every bucket.
